This is
a Collaborative Learning Community assignment.
Your
instructor will assign a specific educational movement to your group from the
following list:
Women’s
Movement
Ethnic/Cultural
Movement
Standards
Movement
Choice/Accountability
Movement
Create a
10-15 slide PowerPoint or Prezi presentation that chronicles the historical
progression of multicultural education by examining the assigned educational
movement. The 10-15 slides are to include the following:
Describe
the movement including when the movement occurred or is occurring as well as
any biases or stereotypes;
Describe
2-3 legal actions and their effect on education; and
Describe
strategies for designing instruction and assessment that eliminates bias and
overcomes stereotypes.
In
addition, include a title slide, reference slide, slide notes, key phrases, and
images/illustrations. Title slide and reference slide are not included in the
10-15 slides required.
While
GCU format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic
writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented
using GCU documentation guidelines, which can be found in the GCU Style Guide,
located in the Student Success Center.
This
assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the
assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
